The First Chinese Temple in Brunei Town
The Chinese New Year is coming up. I have done a number of blog entries about the Chinese New Year and Chinese temples in the past. I thought I will add in more photographs about the old Chinese temple which was originally located at the waterfront facing the Kampong Ayer. I went through the Australian War Memorial archives and found a number of photographs taken during the Second World War.
All the photographs were taken on 14 June 1945 when the Australian Army finally entered Brunei Town after landing a couple of days before in Muara. The photographs are all public domain now as the copyrights have expired.
