HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday saw the new two-storey chalets that are under construction at the Mangrove Paradise Resort in Jalan Kota Batu.
His Majesty toured the new east wing comprising a viewing tower, new two-storey ‘family’ chalets and a new surau.
The management of the resort said that the new facilities will be open to the public in the next few months.
A total of 10 ‘family’ chalets are under construction at the east wing of the resort.
Each chalet will include three en-suite bedrooms coupled with a spacious living room and dining area located at the ground floor while a Jacuzzi is built on the rear balcony overlooking the Brunei River. His Majesty also visited the soon-to-be completed surau built for the convenience of the resort’s guests.
Before concluding the royal visit, His Majesty consented to a luncheon with his entourage at the resort’s restaurant.
Launched in 2009, Mangrove Paradise Resort is built above the water, bearing the concept of stilt houses in Kampong Ayer.
With 15 existing fully-furnished chalets, the addition of the family units is hoped to boost the resort’s image for inbound and outbound tourists.
Another existing facility at the resort is the Z’yan Restaurant offering an array of fresh seafood.
The resort also boasts a spacious conference room, swimming pools and fishing pond.
