On the national level, he referred to the important roles of sports in creating healthy and positive relations within a society, as stated by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports during the opening ceremony.

He hoped that the convention and expo would further enhance awareness, knowledge and education on the dynamism and contribution of sports towards the socio, economic progress of Brunei Darussalam.

"I sincerely hope that all delegates have taken this golden opportunity through the convention to increase their knowledge, exchange ideas, experiences and opinions on sports development-related issues; gained better understanding on sports for all; the sports for excellence and the Sport Industry; and for the improvement of the future of sports development in Brunei Darussalam," he said.

He was also pleased with the efforts of the speakers and facilitators in trying to open the eyes of the participants to be more positive and proactive towards sports for excellence.

"One of the main objectives of this 2012 Brunei Sports Convention and Expo is to get more information and feedback from our participants on sports-related matters through the interactive workshops and survey, which have been conducted, with guidance from our foreign and local speakers and facilitators.

With this feedback, the resolution produced would contribute towards reviewing our National Sports Policy," he said.
