His Majesty hosts banquet for uniformed personnel

A MAGNIFICENT display of loyalty filled the banquet hall of the Istana Nurul Iman as thousands of the nation’s uniformed personnel, dressed up in their fullest ceremonial attire, assembled for an evening banquet to celebrate His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 69th birthday.
A renowned annual tradition, the royal ceremony is to fete the entire uniformed personnel for serving under His Majesty’s benevolent governance.
Yesterday’s elegant banquet was attended by guests from various security agencies and organisations in an opulent atmosphere.
Donned in royal, graceful white navy attire, His Majesty consented to make his way across the banquet hall to receive well wishes from the attending national service personnel.
Accompanying the monarch was Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam.Also present at the banquet were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik with Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.
Other members of the royal family attending last night’s celebration were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.
Prior to banquet’s commencement, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti, recited a Doa Selamat to bless the ceremony.
Among the distinguished guests included Cabinet Ministers, foreign dignitaries and senior government officers.
